Apple launches Music web player

Apple Inc. on Thursday launched its Apple Music service on the web, opening up access to users to who prefer a browser instead of an app.

The company said the web version is an early beta test.

Nice way to get to those non-Windows and non-Mac systems.

Even on Windows I'd rather use this until the full blown Music app arrives to replace iTunes.

I like this, means I can finally use Apple Music on Manjaro, soon as my 3 months of spotify for R5 runs out I will be back to apple music full time.

Works fine for me, just signed in like normal. I think this GUI is more responsive that the POS iTunes app.

Wow, finally.

Been a while since I fired up Apple Music. The last 20 minutes have been wildly unsuccessful at finding a good playlist though, so I don't anticipate ditching Spotify or even using Apple Music much due to the web player.

Another 20 minutes later:
No matter what playlist I choose, whether it's personalised, Today's Chill, Acoustic Chill, Relax, Mellow Days, The Lounge etc, they have a heavy infiltration of electronic, hip hop, R&B, whiny teens etc. influence. I can't stand most of this crap. I can hardly leave Apple Music unattended due to the need to constantly skip tracks. The radio stations are not faring much better. And the quantity of curated playlists is really poor.

I somehow felt that Apple Music wasn't so far behind Spotify, but this is really not good. The distance is massive, for my tastes and the way I use these services at least.

That's what my log in page looks like after I've entered the authentication pin. Super weird. I thought maybe it was my adblocker or one of the various extensions I'm using with Chrome but trying to log in with Edge and I get the same reaction.

Perplexed...

On iTunes account details if confirms one authorized connnection...

No it doesn't, but Apple Music is not blocked at work, whereas Spotify is.
