Or is it becoming a router for quick downloads.

I've tried Android phones twice before. Both flagships of their respective manufacturer. To this day it reminds me why I only use Apple. I actually feel sorry for Android users, my heart goes out to the suffering they must deal with on a daily basis. They all need a hug, and us in the Apple family are ready to give them one.
Lol shame man even my parents in their 60's manage fine with android phones. Must suck to be so clueless.

Hard to notice lag when you're old and laggy.

I kid, I kid. Why do people identify so much with their pocket computers. It doesn't define your self-worth or anything.

Apple fan but I'm buying an Android phone this year to see what the other team has been up to. Haven't had Android in 6 years. I'm going to buy a mid-range phone to see how much value is on offer and also don't want to spend too much in case I have buyer's remorse and want to go back

My ten year old son is an Apple fan and I call him a sheep too. I had to buy him a new 8th gen iPad a little while ago and he has my old iPhone X (old company phone). I have an old Samsung Tab S4 and an Asus ROG phone that I bought overseas last year. Both the Android ones is snappier than Apple ones when playing games, as we play some of the same games together and I am often up and running while he is still loading. The only thing I miss is the decent camera on the iPhone X.

Android tablets are objectively better yes, it's why Google puts so much effort into enhancing Android for large screens.

Oh wait, they haven't really bothered in years lol

I agree. Android is a headache to deal with. You would think making a phone that simply works in 2020 would be an easy task, but apparently not. I will stick with apple too
What did not work on the Android phone?

Apps crashing mid use, when you click it takes forever to perform the act. The whole thing just slow and laggy. Never been so frustrated in my life, wouldn’t want an Android even if they gave it to me for free

One of Apple’s catchphrases for its devices in years past was “It just works.” That might not be as accurate anymore, according to a new study by Blancco Technology Group. In its latest quarterly “State of Mobile Device and Performance” report, the company claims crash reports have nearly doubled quarter over quarter, suggesting that Apple has its work cut out to improve its software.

You need to watch Louis Rossman's repair videos on Mac's. You will soon change your mind.

If it was like that then your opinion is justified. Maybe that was some years back / some cheap and nasty Chinese brand / defective handset.

Even with the so called "bloatware" from network operators (Vodacom!) you would not notice much difference in daily use between an Android from a reputable brand and a iPhone (in the same price range). Youtubers will still test and rank them (they need the money), but after so much copying from both sides there is little to tell them apart, except perception.

Hmm. You can buy top of the range android devices for the same or in most cases less than an iphone. What phone did you use where the apps crashed and it was slow and sluggish? Comparing some sub par fong kong handset for 2k to an iPhone I assume?

Everytime I show isheeple my oneplus 8 pro they are gobsmacked.

I still have a 128GB/8GB OnePlus 5, and it is as smooth as silk, and even has Android 10.

And nothing crashes.

Also Hugh Jeffreys.
Cool video.

I'm very impressed by the level of attention to detail from a build perspective. Very neat inside - no extra glue or other stray bits.

Good to know that important components are paired securely so that if you buy a 2nd hand phone you can't be conned by someone who did a dodgy repair on the phone.

Top of the range Android phones are just as good as iPhones from a build perspective (they're also just as expensive or at most, a couple of hundred rands cheaper) - lower down the foodchain, not so much ie, the Android phones (in my limited experience) that are at the same price point as the lower range iPhones eg iPhone SE, iPhone 7/8 don't exhibit the same build quality.

My last Android phone was the Sony Z3c - I loved that phone, could customise it to my hearts content, never crashed, it was my baby and was treated as such, never dropped, mishandled or left out in the sun, etc - then suddenly, after about 26 months it started giving me problems. Since my contract was due for renewal, I decided to try the then flagship iPhone (iPhone 7) since, the Android alternatives either weren't available here (Pixel) or new models hadn't shipped yet (Sony).

I haven't looked back and have been using iPhone X (bought 2nd hand) for the last two years.

The thing that the Apple haters don't take into account is that the Apple ecosystem really does work well (phone, watch, airpods, laptop all integrate pretty seamlessly). Also, for some strange reason they also refuse to acknowledge that Apple build very durable phones (I still have my wife's old iPhone 6 going as a spare) - all my Android based phones crapped out after a couple of years - I couldn't even hand them down.
