Whew - thought we got over the 'I'm better than you because I have an Apple and I'm rich ....' a few years ago

Are you a grown man or ... ?
No I am poor. I will not be buying a 50k iPad. However I will not be telling the guy that buys it that he is a fool or an idiot or whatever, because if he can afford it he clearly knows more about money than me.

and then you’d still be stuck with the Android apps.
Do the iPad apps work differently to the iPhone apps?

Contrary to belief, not every single iPhone app is better than Android and I'd be over the moon to be 'stuck with Android apps'' (as long as their functionality comes with it). Within a few days I realised a few apps that I've been using are pretty shitty on the iPhone and wondering if iPad is actually any better ?

Does iPad have the limited share sheet as well ?

No generally the same other than the ease of use/functionality due to the screen size.

There is no competition when it comes to apps, iPadOS smokes Android when it comes to the realms I was referring to and many of the best apps are Apple only. For one thing when it comes to pro audio android OS is useless , so for most developers in that realm making apps for Android isn’t feasible.

That being said I can see the fanboys with their blinkers on have drawn their knives on both sides, I don’t give af what you guys use or think so have at it. :D

So, it's the same as the iPhone apps and I'll get the same limited experience again? :(

What are these best apps that are Apple only ? I've heard the same argument for years - and yet no one can actually told me what they are

I just think most the Android guys don't turn a blind eye to what is a negative with their phone *shrug*

Yes. In fact your experience may even be worse since there are 'iPad' apps that are actually IPhone apps with a 2x zoom option and they only work in portrait mode.

So don't buy an iPad to 'fix' an iPhone issue - it wont.

On the other hand, Office productivity apps such as Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc work very well on an iPad (I don't have experience in a current android tablet so can't compare) and I find it complements my workflow.

PDF and other types of document markup and annotation is also excellent with an Apple Pencil, and again, complements my workflow very well.

Although I don't use it often, photo and video editing (and creation) also works well on the iPad using the native tools and software.

They allow those iPhone apps to zoom?
Could resolution not be an issue a well?

I thought the reason for even having no calculator app was that Steve Jobs refused them to simply take the iPhone calculator and zoom it up

Those that do allow it seem to scale without any resolution issues - but I have no expertise in this area. None of my regularly used apps fall into this category (I think my home Aircon app is one of those but I use Alexa or Apple Shortcuts or my phone app mostly nowadays to control it so it doesnt bother me).

To your other points, no idea.

All iPadOS bespoke Apps fill the area well & are optimized (in almost all cases) beautifully.

This is one of the core reasons the iPad is the de facto tablet of choice for almost everyone.

Yea but after noticing apps not working correctly on an iPhone, I do think it’s best to be very clear on the limitations beforehand

Only reason I want an iPad is for illustration/animation. Using a cintiq at a desk becomes a bit limiting when you could achieve similar results on an iPad+pencil anywhere.

That being said, I'd probably opt for a second hand older one rather than paying anything like these retail prices.

I understand that Samsung DeX on their Ultra S tabs and when connected to a monitor is pretty much Windows like.

I note that Private Property auto rotates on Android - but not iPhone .

What does it do on iPad ?

to and many of the best apps are Apple only.
Have you got any examples yet ?

I see that Snapseed , 22Seven, Google Photos, Private Property are just better on the Android .
Sharing to Snapseed on iOS is non-existent and sharing to Instagram is very limited - Android does both .

Google Photo's?

I use it on my phone without issues - what issues do you experience?

I think he's referring to the background sync issue. That's just how ios works, and apple wants you to use iCloud. It's a bit of a pita when photos don't upload just have to remember to leave the app open.

I've got both - but I've used Google Photos as the AI just seemed better at identifying . And there was no auto sharing until a few days ago .

I've done everything iOS to get the 'full experience', but going iCloud is just a bit bleh

The only other issue I have is youtube the videos take substantially longer to download on iPados than on android. I haven't tested other streaming services yet, but to add to the previous statement about ios apps being bad, I disagree you can't blame poor app development on apple/google these local firms need to get their **** together, the worst apps I have ever used are vodacoms and the onedayonly apps, pick n pay too.
