Does apple Gallary not have the feature? They have been incorporating google photo features for the past 3 years now.

No idea.

I know Google Photos on both platforms are slightly different. Unsure if there are other differences, but the stabilise is something I used

Have you got any examples yet ?

I see that Snapseed , 22Seven, Google Photos, Private Property are just better on the Android .
Sharing to Snapseed on iOS is non-existent and sharing to Instagram is very limited - Android does both .
So while Instagram sharing functionality is better, pretty much everything to do with file management is done better on android, Instagrams app is bad on android; it still butchers video/live video, stories are limited to 15 secs, and Instagram uses android emojis from 2010(found this out on Twitter yesterday).

Yea I hear you.

But for many years one is told the apps are just superior on Apple in every way. No one says that some may be worse . The apps aren’t super niche either.

And some are slow even with an iPhone processor. Each and every time my Amazon Alexa loads faster in my 3 year old Android than my iPhone 13 Pro. That’s an international app

Telegram have been forced to remove a feature due to commercials. Spotify don’t like Apple and I’d be curious to see if there is a difference there too

and the native iOS Photo App?

How's it's video stabilisation?

As mentioned, I didn’t try.

I’m just highlighting the differences in 5 or 6 apps between both platforms.

I still wish someone could come to me and do the same on the iOS side

Well that's why I'm asking you - you're in the position to compare them on the same platform.

I unfortunately don't use video stabilisation (that I know of) so can't compare anything.

The only other issue I have is youtube the videos take substantially longer to download on iPados than on android. I haven't tested other streaming services yet, but to add to the previous statement about ios apps being bad, I disagree you can't blame poor app development on apple/google these local firms need to get their **** together, the worst apps I have ever used are vodacoms and the onedayonly apps, pick n pay too.

While on battery? Likely being throttled with intention.

Only reason I want an iPad is for illustration/animation. Using a cintiq at a desk becomes a bit limiting when you could achieve similar results on an iPad+pencil anywhere.

That being said, I'd probably opt for a second hand older one rather than paying anything like these retail prices.
I recently got my first iPad. 12.9" with Apple pencil.

Being able to use it as an additional monitor wirelessly for my mac is really cool. Works perfectly as a second monitor if you're working in a coffee shop. Then you can easily use apple pencil on the iPad that's acting as a second screen.

I don't know of any other option for something that works this well and that is this convenient.

Do you ever get the issue on YouTube where you get a blank screen with a video - but the audio plays? When you exit the video and restart it’s alright - but a bit annoying to have to restart

There is no software stabilisation on the phone unless you want to try one of the third party apps. I don't think Apple's Photos or iMovie (on the phone) ever had it. Google did have it but removed it.

Your best option is to transfer it off the phone, using that laboriously slow lightning connection, and doing on a computer.

Thanks. Definitely an edge use case for me.

That fact remains that not every app is better, more functionality or faster on iOS. This is now the 5th app that is better and/or faster on Android or desktop.

Whether this is the fault of software developers, battery management, RAM management or any other excuse - the fact still remains.

Not everything is a ‘super niche app’ or ‘niche use case’ that no one is going to use.

Errr.... yes.

???

No one is arguing with you anymore about this....you really do need to let go of this bee in your bonnet (you'll notice people squealing about all sorts of iOS issues in various threads on MyBB)

You seem to be the only one keeping score....

Just btw, so far your 5 apps are niche for me (just fyi)

Edit: Serious suggestion - why don't you start a blog / list where you list all the apps that you find to be superior on Android vs iOS - you may just have an untapped audience where you can commiserate with other like-minded individuals and maybe even form a pressure group to get those devs to address the identified issues.

PadOS smokes Android when it comes to the realms I was referring to and many of the best apps are Apple only
@AfricanTech I wasn't actually talking to you - and was politely asking for examples of said apps from @airborne ?
And whether the same limitations that iOS currently has applies to the iPad ?

I've gathered that everything that iPhone can't do well is niche / edge case to every iPhone user - so you don't need to tell me again ;)
