fckin 2 page article....

I don't even have an Apple device but I'd like to know if I need to alert relative without further investigation... Yes/No..pretty please....

In what possible world is a "30 item list" a response to "yes/no"?

Anyway...seems in true Apple style the list attached to said page is irrelevant anyway.

A more sane approach would be "Apple A1300 series chargers recalled". Instead we're left with some generic BS that has people posting BS all over the place and second guessing whether their charger is affected.

The only people who dont understand are those who comment without reading the article.

I think I have one of them.
And yes if SA is included say SA included!

Also have one. Been in use for 3.5 years. Got it with an iPhone 4.

All you need to know...

An affected adapter features Model A1300 and the letters “CE” in solid gray.

Now try getting this adapter swapped. IStore Sandton city says prove you bought it from us before we will swap it.
Apple support is useless.

Apple support is useless.

Escalate to Apple USA or write a tweet to Tim Cook. There is no way they can put that condition on you. I will check my plug at home today, and try as well. If I get that BS, I will make noise.

Havent swapped. But again what if got phone on contract and from provider... hmmm... is cellc going to replace the charge... much doubt

The Exchange Process
Bring the affected adapter(s) to a participating Apple Authorized Service Provider. We will need to verify your iPhone serial number as part of the exchange process so please bring your iPhone with you.

The affected power adapter will be disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.

Find a participating location:

Apple Authorized Service Provider - Find one here.

I'd locate the nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider, print out that page, and kick up a fuss.

After battling to get details on the swap out since last Tuesday (iStore refuse to touch anything they didn't sell), Vodacom is now able to do this (assuming your branch has a clue - hint, they most likely don't). Take it to a service desk, they book it in, give you a "loaner" and contact you once Apple has sent them the replacement.

Except they will give you the 3rd degree if you bought the phone from them, but are now using it with another network sim (ignoring the fact that this is a manufacturer recall and has nothing to do with warranty and such), then the "loaner" they give you will turn out to also be an A1300, and you resort to chewing into your own wrists.

After our frustrating experience, we did escalate it directly to Apple (including emailing Tim Cook - okay, he probably doesn't personally check that account, but someone does act on all messages). Spoke with Executive Relations (EMEIA) today who advised that the matter is been followed up, since with a recall you should be able to walk into ANY Apple Authorised Service Provider and be helped. HelloPeter shows that the iPhone 5 home button recall wasn't managed any better, so hopefully Apple do take this seriously and kick some a.

Hopefully by tomorrow we hear back from Vodacom's Executive Client Liaison Officer with a resolution.

My experience via iStore and Core with this was bad, the store staff fine but their support ????.
X1 wasted trip and a 5 days without chargers: x2 for exchange.....
They (iStore C Walk) sent them off for replacement, I was notified to fetch the replacements, was given the "replacements" walked out of the store and then happened to look at one...was my old charger! Went back into store: What??
Reason "On our system it shows as a Vodacom phone", you need to go to VC...but I'm sure I extended my contract here..."Our records show VC, and no info on the VC site: "Deleted"..... I have ported to CellC.
After the "Sorry we can't help you" I went looking for my invoice: found it: Yes their records are wrong: I had done as I thought, my Upgrade at Century City iStore.
I was heading back with PoP to C Walk iStore with chargers and PoP and called Digicape from the car (handsfree car kit for the keyboard T-cops) I did not get these from you, will you swop them out? "Yes sir, just bring them in"
Digicape will see me for my next laptop.
Core please switch to Android or Windows or Mickey mouse fluffy toys!!
Note: The Canal Walk iStore staff were fine, it was the Core supply chain

I have one of the affected charges, but since i am not the original owner,I do not know which sp the phone had originated from, been using it over night for almost a year with no issues,I have decided that I will ignore it.

It shouldn't matter who it was bought through or whether you're the original owner. Consider that if it should fail badly and start a fire your insurance may refuse to pay out if they trace it back to the charger which you failed to have replaced.

Apple really need to terminate their relationship with Core. They tarnish the Apple name at every turn.
