Apple slapped with R37 billion fine for hampering users from accessing cheaper subscription prices

Apple Inc. was hit Monday with a €1.8 billion (R37.24 billion) penalty from the European Union over an investigation into allegations it shut out music-streaming rivals, including Spotify Technology SA, on its platforms.

The European Commission also ordered the Cupertino, California-based firm to stop preventing music-streaming apps from informing users of cheaper deals away from Apple’s App Store.

All the money in the world but they will still do underhanded sh|t like this. Way to go Tim Crook.

European Commission fines Apple €1.8 billion for abusing its position in music streaming

€2.5 billion less than Google in 2018 lol. Now that would have been hurting the man on the street.

Apple users are far less likely to care.

Nothing unhanded about it. Spotify can still advertise elsewhere. Luckily they're still losing money and probably won't survive the next decade.
underhanded

.....so nothing underhanded about it even though they were fined millions for being underhanded?

Yeah Apple Music is leading in streaming music marketshare...
I use mine for background listening - it's not too bad actually .

But I think that's perfect example of something that has the Apple logo and that's the only reason people loooooove it . When you break it down, it's not a great service really . But I guess average for the price and purposely restricted by Apple because of, um, I don't really know

Google next please. The ancestors demand it.

You should switch to Youtube Music. it's cheaper. Or do you really love to troll so much?

Funny since Youtube Music uses the same codec.
I thought you always said that Apple 16 bit / 256kbbps sounds like everyone elses 24 bit / 192kbps?
Now I'm agreeing with you - but now you're saying that YouTube sounds the same and Apple isn't actually better?
