Apple TV+ and Apple Music price hikes in South Africa

Apple Inc. increased prices for its music and TV+ services for the first time, citing rising licensing costs, a move that risks giving rivals an edge in a fiercely competitive streaming industry.

The company increased the price of Apple Music to $10.99 a month from $9.99 for individuals, effective immediately, making it more expensive than services from Spotify Technology SA and Amazon.com Inc.

Been using the student for over 3 years now. They did send a verification email about a year back, but nothing happened.

For how little there is on Apple TV+ I'd rank it as the most expensive at the current price. Definitely not worth R125 per month.

Apple TV+ has some really good shows (Severance, Mythic Quest, Foundation, Ted Lasso, CODA, Finch, For All Mankind) but not nearly enough to spend R125 per month on. I got it free for 1 year with my MBP, but when it ran out at the end of last month I cancelled it because I pretty much only watched something every 2nd or 3rd month.

I figure I'll wait until there are new seasons of the above shows, or movies I want to watch, binge for 1 month, then cancel.

+1. I really enjoyed it while it was "free", but apparently not enough to start paying for it. Will dip in again, one day...

Now you've gone too far. Even an LG C1 OLED with true blacks can't make Apple TV+ good.

Oh i am not subscribed to that, nothing to watch there. It is in the same league as showmax and Prime video.
