The long wait is over for many! Apple Watch is coming to SA October 23rd.

I've personally had mine since UK launch but great to see the device hit our local shores finally! I was worried it wouldn't make it before the end of the year at one point!

Woot, it should be cheaper than what is currently available. This obviously affirms Discovery's plans to offer Apple Watches to clients :p

Honestly I wouldn't worry with this watch. It's going to be like the iPad 1 when it launched in SA, the next model is just around the corner.

Wait for that one.

I tend to agree with you. But I don't think Apple will be releasing a new one every year like to do with other products. This is too expensive you have it replaced every year or even every two years for that matter.

Imagine having to buy that gold watch now and it would be obsolete in a handful of years.

They already do it with phones that cost much more.

Exactly, I suspect the battery advancement by revision 3 will make it worth it as there is not much else which u can focus on improving in the watch. Processor.. well do you need a beefy one ? Seems to me with watches its all about the efficiency. Short of getting it as a perk via Discovery, I won't get one till the 3rd hardware revision.

My thinking is exactly the same, I won't be spending money on a watch until at least the second or third hardware refresh.

I won't spend on one until it looks as good as a watch that is priced at half its price (I'd pay double for the same looks due to the added functionality)

How do you find app responsiveness on WatchOS2 ?

In the market for a watch - even entry level Seiko's pretty much cost the same as this ...

I know its off topic but I was also looking at a Seiko. Amazon is much cheaper than local.
Was looking at the Seiko Men's SKX007K2.

There is no import duty on watches.

I don't find it to be the greatest looking watch out there. My personal preference for a smart watch is the LG G Watch R - good battery life, compatible with both iPhone and Android, display is always on, and actually looks like a watch...
