Apple will remove earphones and chargers from older iPhone boxes - Report

Apple will no longer ship charging adapters or headphones with any of its iPhones, according to a report from GSM Arena.

During its “Hi, Speed” launch event, Apple finally confirmed weeks of rumours that it would be excluding the items from its iPhone 12 box.

Sources close to Apple claimed the move would offset the additional costs of adding 5G to its smartphones, allowing the company to price the iPhone 12 range at the same or similar prices as the iPhone 11.

Dumb.

the majority of users don't need those accessories anymore. I charge my iphone in my car, and on a wireless pad at home. I have 5 sets of those earphones i dont need cause its not 1985 and i use Bluetooth.

Apple is leading the way again.
Really now? Spending 1000$ plus on a 12 pro model and you have to pay extra for a charger? Only a die hard fanboy will warrant this move from apple.

or anyone that has embraced its 2020 and we charge our devices in all sorts of places : our cars with cables wireless, our wireless pads, our laptops, airplane seat usb, hotel usb, some restaurant table usb, portable battery packs or multi-port chargers.

I see no reason to ship a single charging plug with a phone.

"Jackson stated there were already over 2 billion Apple power adapters and 700 million Lightning headphones in circulation around the world."

I see a massive cost saving(shipping without charger and cable), as well as a new "consumable" revenue stream by the makers. Makers will now essentially make double "profit" with this simple move. This is a lose-lose situation for the customer plain and simple.

Don't you fukkin dare insult Apple. Their devices are so ahead of it's time, it craps bitcoin. The devices breath in CO2 and jizz oxygen. How can you say they only want to make money? Fuk you don't answer that. The only thing you can't do is play Fortnite, because they are greedy cunts who want to make more money. Apple knows they their customers only buy the devices because it's value for money. If they make a $50 dollar condom, I will buy it because it will feel like Jobs is handling my shaft. I will defend Apple. They care about their uses. Fuk you!

If Apple were serious about the environment:
1) They would use USB-C port as does everyone else.
2) New magsafe wireless fast charging would work with the Qi standard - your wireless pad will only slow charge.
You will need the new environmentally friendly Apple Mafsafe fast charger and throw your existing Qi fast wireless pad in the junk heap.

So why dont they include a coupon with the phone to get a free USB C charger or minus the price of said charger to the price of the phone.

Hell, even an exchange program, exchange working USB-A changer for USB-C one...
