Apple's hardware development cycle is to blame for why iPhone features take long to be released

It's more an explanation of HOW Apple takes this long to roll out new features.

The WHY is because they are a luxury goods company and don't need to have the latest technology and features, in order to make huge amounts of profit.

don't need to have the latest technology and features, in order to make huge amounts of profit.

I'd reverse what you're saying : They make huge amounts of profit *because* they don't have the latest technology and features.

Whereas Samsung may pay $1.00 for the latest component, Apple just buys the old stuff for a fraction of that and spins a story to their user base as to why they did it.

They then sell this older (cheaper) technology and a higher price - and the rest is history!

Apple no longer innovates, now they just copy the opposition ... , because they figure they are sitting on a big enough cushion.

They wait for the opposition to iron out the bugs and the copy it ...
How's that different from what a Chinese cell phone manufacturer does? Or all the cell phone manufacturers following Apple's lead and copying them by having no audio jack? Or car manufacturers who knock off similar functionality and features from their competitors. Or TV manufacturers? Hell, the list can go on and on.

You've got to have a better argument than that as it falls completely flat.

So in your lexicon, innovation is equivalent to copycat - EISH!!

BYE!!!

In your world, when you're pushed into a corner you attempt to take the moral high ground and then cop out with a failed comment?

It happens everywhere, not just with a cell phone manufacturer you clearly don't like. But then it doesn't suit the attempted debate you tried to have when other examples from other industries were provided.

OK then...

Lol, Apple buys old technology - but their A15 bionic processors are the fastest mobile processors available on a smartphone?

You do know a phone is more components that a CPU ?

their A15 bionic processors are the fastest mobile processors available on a smartphone?

I remember - like every year, it's 90% faster than anything on earth ... *yawn*

following Apple's lead and copying them by having no audio jack?

They follow Apple's lead when it comes to making money / business side - not on the technology side .

So the removal of headphone and other trends increase their profitability, and other manufactures take note . But it's tough to copy them on technology when they're behind the curve most the time ?

...yet their phones don't catch fire and are done right.

Do you truly and genuinely believe that Apple is the best and that everything they do is 100% correct, with 0o% errors or issues ?
You can't acknowledge a single fault on their devices, as everything was cleverly planned and designed that way?
So when they bent - it was designed that way ? When they had issues charging - it was a design ? When the signal dropped , it was because people held it wrong ?

I'm trying to see how far gone you are :/

Tongue-in-cheek comment, don't read too much into it.
Show me 1 device, car, rocket etc that doesn't have an issue in it. I never said Apple had any issues did I?

They aren't a luxury goods company but they make you think they are.

This again shows that Apple has the best marketing department in the world.

Dolby: 20W wireless charging only? OMG! Apple's 20W wireless charging will be the downfall of civilisation as we know it!

Also Dolby: The A15 is the fastest processor in any mobile phone you say? Well, you know, processor speed is meaningless. No one considers processor speed when buying electronic gear. Trivial. Inconsequential. Immaterial. Trite... Say, did I mention the wireless charging thing? That's totally, super-duper important when picking a phone.

@greg0205 Why are you being funny with me ?
I didn't even direct anything at you?

I simply said it's a great strategy that Apple has by buying cheaper and older components?
Nothing that should irk you ?

bsb is the OG Apple thread troll.

I swear he has alerts set for any new Apple threads just so he can be first with an, "aKsHUaLlY aNdRoId" post.

You're like his young Padawan, Dolby.

Nothing Apple could do even slightly better than android that you don't seem to take as a personal slight.

I gave you this in the usb-c thread:

The thing I've learned is this...

Why does it matter to you, or anyone else really, how I use my phone?

The basis of all OS wars is the, 'well mine can, can yours?' pissing contest thing.

Who cares?

Really, who cares?

I choose Mac and iPhone because they suit me... I like 'em... A lot.

You choose something else because they suit you. Congratulations, Dolby. You're a step closer to self-actualisation and I couldn't be happier for you.

Your happiness isn't mine 'tho.

Mine is.

This list:

Is mostly a list of entirely legitimate reasons for folks' *individual* choices (that September thing is odd 'tho).

Theirs.

Not yours.

You're not my white knight.

I'm a grown-ass man who doesn't need a knight to rescue him from his own phone choices.

How about we all start recognising that and living our lives accordingly?

You didn't process a single thing, and shot back with:

I actually forgot this excuse.

And here you are, in this thread, making what can only described as "this excuse".

You do know a phone is more components that a CPU ?

I remember - like every year, it's 90% faster than anything on earth ... *yawn*

The OS wars were over years ago, Dolby... Still fighting 'em is ridiculous.

Apple folks gonna Apple and Android folks gonna Android.

Let it go, pal.
