SYDNEY, Australia (AP) - It's being marketed as the Best Job in the World and applicants are apparently willing to do pretty much anything to become caretaker of an Australian island.
The job pays $100,000 and whoever gets it will have to spend six months essentially being a beach bum around Australia's Great Barrier Reef. The job includes walking the beaches and contributing to a weekly blog about the experience.
One Greek woman promised to do all of Australia's laundry and pick up after the kangaroos. An Australian apparently had a tattoo advertising her love of the Great Barrier Reef etched onto her arm. And a few people just took off their clothes.
There have been more than a million unique visitors to the job's Web site.
