"Track and Trace" I heard something about a system by a similar name being implemented by the transport department that was supposed to be integrated with e-natis.

The idea was to be able to scan the barcodes on car licence disks and then be able to verify on site whether the vehicle matches the make and model on the system and to be able to view info onsite from the scanner.
Apparently this was one of the reasons that e-natis was developed so that distributed access could be possible I presume from handheld barcode scanners like the Symbol scanners used in retail, using 3G or GPRS.
I wonder if this is a similar system or if its going to tie in with the one being developed for road traffic management purposes.

Don't mean to be negative, but Home Affairs is currently failing people to give them their IDs even though they had to physically go to their offices How will it be possible online whereas they r failin to do a simple ID application?

We just have to wait & c I guess!

Maybe I will get an ID then.

You dont have an ID?!
I dont think this will make getting an ID/Passport any easier. How are they going to get you to sign the required documents, confirm that you are you, get your fingerprints, get your photo (PhotoShop!! :D), confirm that you are the one on the photo etc etc? All the Physical requirements with things like these. . . I don’t know, Only time will tell.
No wonder you were going through bwana versions like crazy in the past, now it all makes sense - You had an identity crisis!

I'm 266 in dog years. :)

Since moving here my passport has served me well enough not to want to stand at home affairs for a day.

OMW they can't get e-natis to run properly then they still want to implement this.

So to "Track and Trace" we'll still have to use international bandwidth (cos you know this sucker is not going to be hosted locally) that is soooo cheap (yes that was meant to be sarcastic) and then not be able to access the page because it was hacked by a bunch of hackers.

 Me a fortune teller - sure come on! :D :p

What are you talking about? You need glasses. Lol. You need to look long and hard to see these things. But it's a dead giveaway once someone quotes something you say.
I should've made this entire post invisible
