Are Amazon and other intl sites still delivering to SA and can their SA side courier partners complete the delivery during lockdown?

i dont think so
there is a lockdown in south africa
"non essential workers" must stay at home

i dont see how DHL for example are exempt, unless they are delivering masks etc

Not only masks - medicine, food, beauty and cleaning products etc. Warehouse and transport employees should still be working (in shifts) on the premises throughout the lockdown period.

yup, hence my etc :)
seen as this thread is under PC Hardware and Gadgets it would be frowned upon for a delivery vehicle to be delivering such items, but then again this is Africa, people do whatever they wanna do

Aren't cellphones and computers essential items?

I didn't know where else to post the thread but I'm referring to ordering essentials from Amazon and other intl websites.

I ordered a keyboard and mousepad on March 20 from Amazon UK with UPS.

Was held in Germany after lockdown on March 25 "Your package has been delayed due to events beyond our control. ".
Arrived in SA and cleared customs on March 30. It's sitting in JHB at the moment, not sure if they will deliver it. Wootware is, so possibly.

I wouldn't take that chance, customs are likely opening everything at the moment.

I tried adding stuff they said not shipping to SA atm. Rather grab what you can from wootware which is still priced at lower exchange rate.
Yep, better be quick, someone said they saw price increases of R1000 on items already.

No, UPS won't release it for the last week: "Due to global health events beyond our control, your package is being held for delivery at a later date.". Looks like it's not being delivered till after lockdown.

Must just add this wasn't from Amazon, it was directly from a business. They will let me know the reason for return once they've received them. Will send it to family in the States who should be visiting in the next 3 months or so
