Yes, because I am privy to all large company's financials. /s

Other - It's too early in the week for the Friday thread.

Anyway, fairly likely that most large companies are in bed with this government, so they'll pay too little.

And if they ever paid too much we'd be the ones paying that in the end.

No, if they can still afford to employ white people and operate under ANC law. Then they can pay even more taxes.

If anything they are taxed too much, Why, because grant recipients have to eat for free.

But my CEO raked in a cool 100 bar last year. There's still much that can be sent to the poor instead.

Company tax got raised to international norm, it's fine.
Issue is more dividends tax is still 20% afaik, imho that should be similar to PIT with progressive bands.

By increasing dividends tax, companies are more incentivized to reinvest in the business, and a majority of those who found businesses are not only in it for the money (by that I mean going dividends to avoid personal tax, bad phrasing my part, it's more they're in it for own decisions, gap in market etc. Where this is also profit and they'll still do it even if tax is higher), will be fine, just make it a bit more attractive than PIT (if you even need to tbh) but similar.

Without being in the MD/CEO/Director seat, it is impossible to comment here.
However, as an inside observer, I think the tax laws apply the same across the board. What this open-ended and pointless question fails to ask is whether companies pay their share, or what they're supposed to pay. They don't. Many companies including the one I work for, expend a lot of the budget in hiring creative accountants to ensure that they pay as little tax as possible, including things like forcing me to contribute to a pension fund of their choosing, and other "perks" that don't benefit me.

Well most big companies employ tax experts, guys who are accountants with masters in tax. They are employed to legally reduce the companies tax payments. Thus, they pay per the tax act their fair share.

No. Company tax should be no more than 5% and all personal/other taxes should be abolished. Government has way to much money to waste.

Fair or not, it would help if we could get an invoice or statement from the courier company as to what we are actually paying for. Two similar parcels of similar price, attracted two different amounts due. I would like to know why. Also why in some instances there is no tax due before a parcel is delivered. Is there any way we can demand an invoice either from the courier company or from the tax man? The courier companies are difficult to converse with as they are hiding behind call centers and do not want to engage.
