Are Minis cool cars?

I been seeing a lot of these on the road largely. There seems to be a few different types of minis these days too. Some are big, some look pretty vanilla and some look more aggressive or fast. Some almost look like off road cars, super cool looking.

Anyone ever driven one of these? Are they good cars?

Also does anyone here buy new cars often? Like change every year or two.

They are great cars in my opinion (under maintenance plan) and only if you buy a Cooper S, JCW or GP, expect to pay big money though, this is not a "value for money" type car, it's all about "lifestyle" lol, you need to get rid of it before the maintenance plan runs out.
Take note they are built by BMW so keeping them running can get expensive (make sure you are covered) especially with the performance ones, you can probably get a better overall car somewhere else though, but I have to say it's tough to find something that handles like a Mini Cooper S.

The above is all about the 2 door hatch, I would not buy any of the other variants of Mini, personally.

I think that movie the Italian Job created a lot to hype for the car.

In my opinion the interior styling is quite horrendous. Outside it's okay.

Also, only consider buying if you are a chic.

Nice city car. Don't get a turbo version.
Decent styling once you get used to it

Seems more feminine yes. Built by BMW so the long-term reliability is horrendous just like BMW.

They also have a reputation of being extremely hard to work on because of the way the engine is packaged in a tight space. Definitely not a DIY car.

If you have a warranty then by all means go ahead.

My wife has the plain 1600 (non turbo). It's about 8 years old and still looks and feels like new. I always make excuses to drive it, because it is fun to drive and it handles like a dream.

There were some niggling issues in the first year, but they were sorted under the maintenance plan that has lapsed long ago.

Just by the way, all new minis are turbocharged, except for the electric versions...

the ones made by BMW are not cool , but the older ones have proper street cred. The bmw minis are chicks cars.

I learnt to drive in a 1971 mini. Great little cars back then.
The new (BM-Trouble-you) ones: don't know.
(They're not really 'real' minis anyway.)

In my view? Absolutely nice looking cars. Only the S or JCW versions are worth it in my opinion. The prices on Minis fall like mad, so there’s always a good deal to be found

Very fun little drivers cars and mostly pretty solid.

I do find when they reach a certain age those fancy retro switches and interior things like that start breaking but mechanically they are quite reliable.
