Sorry to ask dumb questions again but is d/l from newsgroups cnosidered to be P2P? Some ISP's are sending me quotes that say "no p2p". So basically my story is I need to d/l 20G a month from Newsgroups (international as I can't seem tofind a local server that mirrors Usenet content)- and will appreciate advice from anyone as I'm sure u all know more than me! thanks in advance

No technically its a client - server protocol.
If you are worried join up with easynews, then you can download zipped files of your favourite "linux distribution" on port 80, just like any other web download.

As Daveogg said. it is Client/Server. but they may class it as P2P as it does not use port 80 but 119 and some ISPs may block that port.
but again as Daveogg said use easynews

Depends on your ISP - most traffic will be local... Don't think they will block it, but with Telkom one never knows...

Easynews?

Ok firstly thanks for the input but u guys lost me at the "linux distirbution" part. I am really not too clued up technically so bear with me ...thanks

Sorry to confuse you. Its just more politically correct here to say "linux distribution" rather than "latest pirated movie/game/app"

If need a little help with easynews, just PM me. Their are a few tricks to find what you need. Dont be put off by the very minamalist web site, once you into it it rocks.
