Are online S.A gamer lame?

I have come to the conclusion that online S.A gamers are lame, I base this fact on the following

Almost all S.A gamers play the same games online, its the BF series and CSS, when told to try a different title online, they will usually say things like (but that will mess up my aiming in CSS or I am to cheap to buy original titles)

If you take a look at all the awesome saix servers that have been given to the gaming community you will see that most of them are ghost servers, with only the BF and CSS servers being full all the time.

Some gamers are so lame, that not only do they only ever play one game, but they only ever play one map on the same game.

I can only imagine that the S.A online gaming comunity are the type of people that would be happy eating the same meal in a restaurant every night of their lives.

And watching the same movie over and over again every day.

Look there are exceptions to the rule, but they are the minority caught in a world of mindless Awpers hanging out in dashuur.

So what would you recommend as an alternative to BF2 and BF2142? I happen to have both and a few expansion packs. They cost alot and I dont have money to just buy any old game on the off-chance I may find it enjoyable, made tht mistake before too many times. BF and CSS servers are always populated and well supported for a reason - people like the games. Why buy obscure titles when its plain to see what the popular ones are?

I also buy branded titled games, and still like playing bf2 and css, online and maybe even C&C generals, and NFS online. it's peoples choices what the want to play.

it's the same as asking why do you drive the n1 everyday when you no you are going to be stuck in traffic? who cares

Um you seem to forget that many play WoW, Guildwars and a number of other games on international servers.

Why don't you try and drum up support for the games you would like to play instead of making wild generalisations.

I'm with Fresh I'm afraid. I don't have the time or budget to buy every game that comes out, and I think most players are like that. The ZA community gamer is also not that big, so they will tend to congregate around a few more populat titles.

Would you suggest we spread our already thin gamers base over all games and have 1 player per server , get bored very quickly and decide screw this and just play single player games from now on?

I play CSS and BF thats not the point im trying to make, and yes I do realise that a lot of S.A gamers play WoW and other online games as well, my argument is aimed at the 90% of gamers that only play CSS and BF2 and are to scared to atempt anything else as it may interfere with their aiming.

I purchased freelancer when it came out, and to my surprise the server was empty.
I purchased ghost Recon hey and guess what, server empty.
I purchased IL2 Stumorvik, hey and you wouldn't believe, server empty.

I have played on the CSS and BF servers, and they are always full, I just find it lame, im sorry.

What about other games? what about Dark Messiah, that has a multiplayer exactly like BF except all the fighting is with magic and swords and shields, we will never get to play awesome games like that online, because our lame duck online gamers might mess up their aiming in css.

well i say it just boils down to where we geographically in this world,most of our servers i think personally are not up to standard as you would say in the US or EU.

overseas the online gaming is INSANE and furious,there youll be able to swing swords and cast fireballs against some oke in Denmark and the funny thing....there will be no lag what so ever.

plz ghost recon is a waste of time way to slow paced il2 stumorvik gets old really fast, freelancer is the worst game i have ever played omg it sucks something bad

most ppl want fast paced action because its a thrill not some lame ass game which is slow paced and ultra realistic

maybe the gameS you like just suck ASS and thats why no one plays them

so maybe the real lamer here is you because you keep buying these stupid lame ass games that no one would even consider playing because they are so damn LAME

LOL. dude, you got sand stuck somewhere? dont generalise. In the past year, i bought 5 original single player games. I tried many Online FPS's, RPG's etc... they just dont hook me.

Now maybe there is a reason why everyone chooses to play BF, it rocks. all other FPS MP games cannot compete... The day a new game comes out, i will play the demo. , but if it doesnt grab me, i wouldnt buy it. And im not gonna waste precious bandwidth on lame games.

And also, have you ever seen how internationals conduct themselves? I think our online players are quite good at what they do

I am not generalising, I admitted that there are gamers out there who are not afraid to test the water when it comes to new titles.
Nor am I saying that there is anything wrong with CSS or BF both games are legendary, my only complaint is that so many awesome online titles will pass me by as my fellow online gamers don't seem to ever wan't to get into anything new.

Maybe the community is just to small...
I must admit that I can't wait to live in England, as when I do play most of these other games, I usually end up playing on English servers with bad latency, so living in London might just sort all my problems out.

I agree with James, i suppose if the small gaming community played a varied selection of titles, there wouldn't be sufficient players on all the servers, so perhaps my argument makes less sense if the community really is that small.

Maybe they dont see the same view on these 'awesome games that pass you by' as you do. Ever tried COD2? Full server everynight. Warcraft too, it probably has the BIGGEST gaming community out. Did you know that?

I played Guild wars, I played Wow from the day it was launched in the states, I played City of Heroes and City of Villains, I played Lineage 2 and everquest 2.

I am not afraid of trying new games.

But I don't know what COD2 is? Do you mean Call of Duty cause yes I have played that.

Successful titles will always keep a persons attention. Counter Strike is a really awesome online game that most people can get into really quickly, I personally do not enjoy war games, like BF1942/CoD but CSS (not war) a Online FPS rather enjoyable. I dont know of another game that is really as enjoyable to me in that genre, half Life Deathmatch isnt as fun.

World of Warcraft is the same, I have tried for around 2 hours per other MMORPG's but I get bored of them so fast because they cannot match World of Warcraft. If there is a better game according to the player, he/she will play it.

Money and bandwidth is also a problem for most players, so they may stick to what they know for that reason aswell.
