Takealot.com is listing the iphone6 128GB as in stock as of today (15th Oct 2014).

Does anybody know if these are grey imports or the real deal?

Also, the price they're offering the 128GB at is R16,649 for the 6 and R17,899 for the 6+. Was everybody else expecting these price points or does this seem a bit high?

If they honor the warranty does it matter?
AFAIK Core handles the warranty of grey imports if you have proof you paid custom levies.

As in, they are legally brought into the country but not through the official suppliers channels?

i.e. I'm trying to fathom whether those prices are realistic for out-of-contract purchases once the iphone6 launches next week or whether those prices are reflecting a bunch of middle-men along the way each taking their cut.

They are grey imports and those prices are high.

They don't. I had an iPhone that I bought at Best Buy in the USA, and they point blank refused to look at it.

At the shop they just type in the serial number and see where it was bought, and if it's not SA they refer you to the cellular repair shop around the corner, or want to sell you a brand new one.
