We need to run Apache on windows for one of our clients. But there isn't a lot of documentation on Google about it.

Is there someone here that can help us out / send us in the right direction?
I'll then add you on msn for the technical questions.

Thanks in advance. :)

Well, specifically, we need to run a reverse proxy (Mod_Proxy). I just need someone who can tell me how.

Rofl. Now where is that quicker and easier than just installing Xampp?

Xampp all you need to do is double click on it - it inhstalls - you reboot windows - you start the desktop icon - you start apache - done - you throw the files you need to run on apache in a certain folder - all is happy

For Linux Box - extra Pc - you need to install a distro - etc.. etc.. 12hrs down line, your app runs :D Seriuosly, to get one app running, use Xampp, its fool proof as well, and it uses almost no resources :D

IT is 5% install, 95% maintenance. What you may gain on the quicker install you will lose on the headaches.

Been running Xampp on a local Pc for more than a year. Absolut no headaches.
All I am saying, its pointless to set up a complete box just for one app

I prefer Turnkey lamp, out of the box distro with a bit more oomf than wamp and obviously run it in VirtualBox.

+1 for wamp

1. install wamp
2. left click on the wamp systray icon
3. select: apache > apache modules > proxy_xxx

this is why i prefer wamp
pm me if you get stuck

I have successfully used XAMPP on Windows and Linux, admittedly only for development, but you will need to do more for a live server.
