I heard that tv games ruins your tv - is that true? Or was it only true in the old days?

I really don't think that's true... my Playstation and PS2 never damaged my old TV and my Xbox 360 hasn't damaged my LCD yet ;)

my Sega once broke my grandma's TV, when I left it on MK3 intro's for a few hours when bored..

it was an old TV, that got hot - so either it did bust it, or I was just unlucky....

It is kind of true.
If you leave one image on the screen for too long it may burn onto the screen and stay there permanently.

So in theory a dvd player also ruins a tv. My parents use to tell me the same thing.

I think older tv's could get messed up if they continuosly recieve a signal it wasnt designed for e.g. 60hz.

I sometimes yell at the TV at an intense moment. Hell, I'm even likely to throw one or two things at it if i die before the checkpoint of a particular game, so for me gaming can be extremely hazardous to the TV :D

I think its just something people made up so you don't play "tv games" on their TV e.g. grandparents.
