ARE TV GAMES BAD FOR THE TV?

tv games tv games are...u knwo the ones with the cartrdige yes those, they broke abt 2 tv's here at home,BUT ever since my ps1 which used the AV channel,no other tv has been affected, so it must be the ones that are connected in the AERial port..but yeh thats my story

I heard that tv games ruins your tv - is that true? Or was it only true in the old days?

Were you born yesterday? In 1989? :D

It doesn't ruin your TV. My folks just used to say that because I played too much.

No magnets... those ruin TV's..... but only for a bit :)

Burn in can happen, in older tubes and especially rear projection TV's, we have an enormous rear projector TV here with a nice little Kyknet chair notched in the top right corner of the screen 24/7 :D

So yea, not just games can cause burn-in, DSTV logos can too.

Funny i remember reading something about burn-in while playing metal gear solid 4, something about a burn-in warning for crt tubes and rear projectors, but not lcd's.

my Sega once broke my grandma's TV, when I left it on MK3 intro's for a few hours when bored..

it was an old TV, that got hot - so either it did bust it, or I was just unlucky....

You actually owned a console system of your own? :eek:
Judging from a previous thread, I thought you didn't venture much past the corridors of emulation. :p
