Women multi-task via parallel processing with the least context switching cost pending multiple factors (way brain wired up which differs from one to the other) where Men multi-task best with least context switching.. but where is the multi-task?
Well optimizing the context switch cost vs gains gotten by focusing on a single task you get efficiency gains.
This is why jobs which require actively monitoring multiple disparate systems/processes are a struggle for a guy and where context switching is slower but requires absolute concentration on one task endlessly have women finding it boring or mundane. Interestingly for seemingly unconnected systems women find ways systems influence each other which men just never got..
This is not to say every wo/man is wired up the same, just the way nature and hormones influence broad development. Much like personality tests, knowing what your threshold is for multi-tasking and how costly distractions are.. people should control environment better but most don’t.. so I find the guys watching YouTube in parallel to working and then wondering how to finish as much work as I do.. well.. immature or not understanding themselves and nature very well. I guess advantages of being introspective.
