FNB and Standard Bank have both suffered massive issues over the past week.

With this in mind, are you happy with your bank?

Capitec Bank works, easy app and all that. But there bank cards are unreliable to the point that I use cash to pay for petrol.

Meh, with Standard Bank who have been lack lustre of late, also with Discovery who I haven't had issues with, I don't have complicated needs though and rarely contact either of them.

Std who I have used for 40 years just told me they lost all my documents.. What a bunch of Muppets.. I need a new bank.. Soon!

with 3 Discovery, FNB and Tymebank, 2 of them are free and FNB as primary,
what do I think of FNB, well for one, they tend to give a lot more for your money IMO,
they assume you are well versed in digital affairs, and they encourage you to do everything online, that I can understand not everybody does.

Tymebank is nice when you want some cash to save, and discovery is just really for the prepaid gym that saves you signing a contract for a year,
when you dont even go that often to the gym anyway.

As per my other thread, FNB sucks and Investic is an option. With Capitec constantly bringing out new products, I might just make them my primary bank again.

Have the following active bank accounts:

* Standard Bank - suck the most and they still can't figure out how to restore my internet banking access for years now. Just a debit order going off I'm too lazy to switch.

* FNB - they sucked at Private Banking, moved to another account and now they suck again on eBucks.

* Tyme - I tested them out, nothing bad to say. Used them as "pocket" money bank.

* Capitec - the King of simple banking. I only switched from them to FNB for my first home loan. Might just remortgage all my property to SA Homeloans and go back to Capitec.

But does anyone still use ABSA as a bank ?

They had all their issues years ago and most people moved away from them back then.
My Dad opened my account with ABSA in 2006. I'm still using the account and don't see myself moving anytime soon. I do have a backup with FNB but won't make a full switch.

I'm with FNB (main account) and Discovery (for fun). Thinking of moving everything over, plenty of reasons but FNB hasn't been terrible, just not great.

The biggest issue is splitting effort between the loyalty programs and I'm having a bad time with ebucks so feeling the need to move over.
