Im just curious to know how many South Africans are using their PC's to contribute to @Home projects and if you are in a team.

Im in the SETI@Home (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) and im with the SETIKAH@KOREA Team.

At night it uses 100% of my GPU and CPU.

I used to be involved in SETI around 2000/2001... then lost interest.

I think someone should go find out what he's costing his parents in electricity usage ;)

I'm heavily involved (70 cores) in World Community Grid, it runs 24/7 on all my PCs. 24-32 cores on my own account, the rest dedicated to someone else's account in their honour (the person passed away several years back).

I used to be very involved, but not at the moment. The electricity costs add up :(

this, there is greed...

FTFY. It's not like you're going to make more than a few Rands per year from your CPU...

Oh, one other project I'm involved in is GPUGrid, I've got four GTX 580s on it (although they're not running at the moment due to the summer heat).
