Yes it's more complicated in real life, but here is a nice little simplistic calculator to see how well you are doing in your quest to retirement. Scroll down to see the instructions.
I prefer Patrick's calculator on Investor Challenge

Also wish there was more FIRE stuff on MyBB

"Retirement".....hahahah, jirre. This is not 1980.

I'll never stop working or earning...I'll be bored schitless.

Had a couple of hard years where contributions to RA was miniscule.
At age 40 I'm finally in a position to contribute about 18% of my salary to RA and pension.
I have a bit in savings from inheritance and I'm mostly debt free.

Guess the next 25 years will have to be a little more lean to start saving more to at least be able to buy food and take the occasional holiday to enjoy the last few years of my life.

Sad how we work only to be able to die comfortably.

I was more or less doing well compared to 5 years ago, but life has thrown some hectic spanners in the works and I've shifted from a possible comfortable retirement and hopeful "early" financial independence to working for the rest of my life LOL. At least I'm not alone?

Investing for retirement is useless. You shoul keep working till you drop.

Sell drugs. Sell women. Sell arms. Stop after a few years. Invest the millions and live happily afterwards.

You're welcome.

I'm just one conversation away from retirement. The conversation that starts with “Sweetie, will you support me?”
