Cricket South Africa has apologised after it became social media’s latest punching bag for spelling ‘Africa’ wrong at the launch of one of its own tournaments.

The Africa T20 is a new competition that will see South African provinces grouped alongside national teams from Zimbabwe, Kenya and Namibia.

It would usually be lauded as a positive move by the under-fire association, providing a springboard for its best young players while simultaneously growing the game in chronically underfunded nations.

However all that goodwill was lost when journalists turned up to the official launch of the tournament and spotted a glaring grammatical error in the official logo.

At least they saw the funny side...

What is it with spelling mistakes nowadays?
Just this weekend I went shopping for a new UPS .First one I looked at misspelled Inverter as Invertor.
Seems spell-check is making us stupid.

Nope. if they were using a spell-check, these errors would never see the light of day.

I think it is more a case of a lack of pride in the work being produced.
