That is an understatement. Argentina are nothing short of fantastic! And, Juan Hernandez won't be available for the Sharks :)

On a more serious note, it'd be great to see another team besides ourselves beating those idjits from Oz and Nz. I know I will support the Boks to the end but when theirs comes, Argentina will also enjoy my loyalty. I think maybe then the Oz/NZ citing grip over South Africa may just be alleviated somewhat - I really hope Argie will be an ally.

He will still. In fact they may want him to stay longer so they have an inside feed into SA rugby ;)

Besides when they play against the Boks of course! :) Then I am with you on that.

The history of South African and Argentinian rugby goes way back together. I think you'll find they have a bit of an "allegiance" to SA rugby. Well I hope so too!

could Japan make an entry into this too like the northern hemisphere and maybe later have a northern versus southern hemisphere tournament?

Unfortunately I think it would be way too early for Japan to be able to be competitive against the other four countries.

Besides they are in the Northern Hemisphere so they can't join us! ;)

but in the future?

they need some practice and whats better than a few games down here, maybe not in a tournament but at least a tour of some countries until they are good enough to get involved.

I have to admit my first thought was that they will have to change the format again.... you can't possibly fit all those games into a season, every season. They are going to have to start alternating seasons soon. Fournations one year, Super15 the next.... or we may well end up with groups in the Super 14.

It's crazy, driven by greed IMO... And surely no four-nations in a World cup year??!!!

I do agree that these other teams need exposure to the top teams outside of the World Cups. Perhaps instead of tours to Europe the end of every year they should do a South American tour one year and then an Asian tour the next... but I suppose it is all about where the money is.

Those countries should pop over here to play us when we are "warming up" for a season like we did against Namibia. But again I suppose it is the cost. With rugby not being that big in those countries they probably don't have the finances to tour here.

We will have groups in the Super 15 from 2011. The 15 teams will be divided into 3 conferences.

Im really happy about it, we need a bit more diversity.

+1 :D

It's good Southern Hemisphere rugby. Diversity means it won't be the same old, same old. And it'll move the S/H teams even further ahead of the N/H countries.

Even bigger wallops in store for England?:D

I suggest the "Titan's Cup" as a name change - says it all about the S/H teams :D
