"Arraycomm to exit iBurst: Will focus on WiMax"
So says Justin Springham, a tech analyst who has been a commentator on ArrayComm for a number of years.
He also stated that: "The complexity and high costs of installing an iBurst
solution didn't appeal to network operators".
Also, the President and CEO had left the company in March".

It's in print, in one of the European Telco Journals I get - You should be able to pick it up somewhere on Google,
as Justin's work is widely published in the industry. But remember this is an opinion not yet fact!!!

It is not the first, nor will it be the last Wireless player to change direction
and focus on WiMax.
Early last year Navini Networks did the same, even though it was a major
player and backer of 802.20.
Even Kyocera Corporation, an iBurst "partner" has now joined the Wimax Forum.

Not so fast .... NOTHING is official yet.
Also....they would probably sell the iBurst "division" to a 3rd party anyway.
However if true, the problem is going to be that WBS would be quite
reluctant to invest further in this technology.

I've seen this happen before

It doesn't necessarily mean iBurst will become obsolete, although, like everything else it will, after a few years due to natural progression in technology.

The actual implementation of iBurst in this country is Japanese (kyocera) Kyocera is a strong electronics company that manufactures resonators and capacitors. I use some of their other products in designs at work. They go head on head against Murata. Many major Japanese electronic component firms are starting to come to SA....
