Can’t remember the last time we scored 5

Saw a stat yesterday that showed that this is our lowest scoring season in a decade. Not having a real striker really hurt us. Hopefully that won’t be a problem next season.

Nketiah turned out to be a revelation in the end though. Too bad he might leave.

Well considering he’s now equal on goals with Gabriel, not much to write home about. I’d keep him, but definitely only as a squad/bench player. We need a real house name striker for next season.

This is on Arteta. If we kept Auba we would have made top 4. Dont think we will get a better chance.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the season

After losing the first 3 games if you offered 5th place I think any of us would have grabbed.

Hate losing to Spurs and Champions League would have been a great turnaround but realistically I don't think we are ready. Would much rather be competitive in Europa than be thumped in Champions League.

But we really need a good few players in to build depth and allow for rotation. With basically only the league this year, we're in for a tough season if we don't add quality numbers

Getting them to stay is the issue

Someone like Saka especially is going to be on a lot of clubs’ radars this summer.

I’ve said it to a few people at work already: if we can keep the current core (Ramsdale, Tomi, White, Gabriel, Tierney, Partey, Saka, ESR, Ødegaard, Martinelli), the rest of the league is going to start sweating when they all start peaking in 2-3 years time. Even if we bring in older, more experienced players to help them along, it will have been worth it because the end result is going to be epic. The important thing, though, is to bring in PROPER footballers this summer, not players like Cedric, Tavares, etc.

All our competitors will strengthen. With edu signing players like Cedric and Tavares , we stand no chance for top 4

Tomiyasu, Gabriel, White, Ramsdale, Odegaard

That’s what they said this year too, and then we ended up having a REALLY good chance.

Taveres was a gamble. Low/no downside, high upside.
Good try though. Analysis like a potato

The point I’m trying to make is that we messed up this season. Losing to palace, Brighton and Southampton cost us a top 4 place. If we won one of those three games we would have qualified. I’m sorry but every single season is the same story of hope. This is the problem with Arsenal. When Wenger was sacked many fans thought things will magically change, same with Emery. With an owner like kroenke I don’t think we will ever be successful. Spurs strengthened their squad in January and it helped them stay competitive. Why didn’t we ? It’s incompetence. There are no guarantees next season. Wake up to the reality instead of living in hope. Just because you support a team does not mean you can’t criticize the way the club is run.

With 5 subs allowed next season and Europa, Arsenal will need a full 22 man squad.

I rely have no idea how many players we need to sign to actually get a 22 man squad with several players running down their contract and so many players on loan.

Players like Cedric and Tavares WILL go to a club that's not in Europe. We don't have Champions League, yet.

It would be great if we could get Fernandinho on the free since he is leaving City. I am generally not a fan of old (retiring) players but they are not built the same. There are days where we just need an experienced someone to hold us together. I’m not sold on Jesus though.

Auba would not have gotten us top 4 - so let it go. This team is not yet ready for UCL.
At the current state the team isn't in a state for the EL either.

Elneny, Laca and Nketiah are out of contract, they are willing to sell Pepe for a loss. So that's 4 signings just to get to the barebones squad we finished the season with.

There was a snap of Elneny posing with a pen and a piece of paper yesterday after Arteta’s press conference. Expect the announcement of an extension soon I guess.

Agreed, why I don't get people crying about not getting 4th and UCL.

Elneny may have signed a year extension ...

that's fine. you need 7/10 squad players who can come in and do a job

people expecting "world-class" players in every position + backup are living in a dream world. this basically happens at 1 team in world football
