Well, yesterday was a bit weird. Watched the interview with Josh Kroenke. What he said seemed genuine and unscripted - I guess I'm just losing my mind. Main point was about what the club had been doing behind the scenes with the backroom staff (most recently appointing Edu as director of football - the first time we've had one in 130+ years of the club's history). And what he said about transfers was later reaffirmed in an interview with Emery who said we're bringing in 3-4 players, 1 being very expensive - Zaha? Others have interpreted it as 3-4 expensive signings - Emery still speaks Spanglish unfortunately.

I guess we're just going to have to wait and see what happens in the next couple of weeks.

3-4 players, when we need 6-8 players, ... , nothing changed

Would rather have 3-4 good players than 6-8 stocking-fillers. No-one buys 8 good players in a single window, not even the teams with oil money. We're in a rebuilding process, so just need to be patient. It's going still take a lot to undo the last 10 years of Ivan/Arsene.

We get 3-4 good players in, and loose 4 -5 good players, result is a never ending backwards slide ...

Going after some good players on loan that parent clubs want to keep might be a good short term strategy

Alves would apparently take a pay cut to join. Thoughts? Also, someone like Cahill is available on a free - older and slower, but I reckon infinitely better than Mustafi.

Probably better to write the next 3 years off, and get a lot of good younsters, and then let them sort themselves out, at least we will have a coherent team, and not good up front middling in the middle and atrocious at the back, and dysfunctional operating between the three.

Taking Alves is fine but you need CB's - although he is definitely a better option than Bellerina :D

Fair point. The wonder what the Kos debacle has done for the Saliba deal. I can just see us lining up with Mustafi in the CB pairing.

:crying:

Youngsters are tearing it up in preseason. First Bayern, and now Fiorentina. Laca was in a position to score a couple of times, but decided to lay it off and the youth players tucked it away. Eddie got two. I really hope they make him our 3rd choice striker and don't loan him out.

Scuttlebutt is we've offered Palace 55 mil now plus 10 mil in add ons plus Reiss Nelson on loan for Zaha.

Bonkers not to accept. Yes, I know, United sell on clause and all. But still!

Honestly, I'd keep Nelson. He did really well on loan last season. But I guess if it means he gets some EPL experience, and we get Zaha, we should go for it.

In other news, we're signing Ceballos on loan and the Saliba deal is done. Just won't see him in action for us until next season.

Stoked about Ceballos. Hope Saliba turns out to be a beast. When does his contract start? Next season or the one he starts for us?

Seems Tierney's off. Wonder who the plan b is? Always wondered, would getting proper wingers aid our defense?

Luckily Celtic don’t have access to the media that is reporting that arsenal are only pretending.
