"The police abuse us instead of protecting us." These are the words of Cape Town sex worker Angie de Bruin, 54, who is tired of the abuse faced as a vulnerable person in an illegal profession.

Working as a paralegal for the Sex Workers' Education and Advocacy Taskforce (Sweat), she is a regular witness to the abuse of power by some policemen.

It's not only sex workers that the police abuse instead of protect. Not all of them, but too many of the policemen, and policewomen, prey like savage vultures in the weak and vulnerable.

I can believe this.

They should legalise the industry and a lot of the associated problems will go away.

BTW, who in their right mind would go to a prozzie never mind a 54yr one :wtf:

Umm, nice 9-year old necro with zero context I guess.

Perhaps cut down on the day-drinking?

Is there a reason for bumping a 9 year old thread with some random tweet?
