Im on my second Asus DSL-N14U I returned the last one after briefly getting it to connect to the internet. My second one now starts the setup utility

And then gets to this result.

Ive tried manually adding the settings in WAN but the router still won't connect?

To fault check I have changed the Rj-11 cable and double checked it with my original FON router. Ive factory reset it a couple of times.

Im unable to update the firmware because I can't get it to connect.

Has anyone had a similar experience or know how to resolve it?

I have contacted Asus support and they have said the first router with similar issues had a hardware fault.

After returning two Asus routers I now have a D-Link DSL-2740U

Plug it in last night and configure the ADSL settings and it will not connect at all, again change the dal cable and nothing. Plug the FON router back in and it connects without an issue.

I called mweb and logged a line fault.

Telkom tech phones me this morning and says there is nothing wrong with the line and it must be a config issue on the modem?

It needs to be configured to VDSL

Anyone have any clue how to do this? I didn't see anything in the settings?

I have been able to find this and will try it when I get home tonight.

Issue resolved, thanks for the reply.

Looks like I was ordering incompatible routers.

Good to know the FON router is VDSL compatible.
