At least 500 government facilities getting backup power from China — Ramokgopa

At least 500 public facilities around the country are set to benefit from a donation from China which will allow them to have uninterrupted alternative power supply and shield them from the effects of load shedding.

The donation includes generators, power supply vehicles and off grid PV energy storage supply systems.

Good on you China. Keeping our clinics and hospitals running. Hope they bracket these generators in safe housing.

One week later....

Which 500 useless facilities are going to get this I wonder, cos you can be damned sure that most will go to facilities that aren't needed.

Great news! The government will be fully powered to tell us the system is down

Can you imagine...

They'll give all the HA offices backup power, but forget to do the same to the central office so when that PC under the DG's desk goes down, all of HA is down regardless.

Or of course it could be like the HA office down in Port Shepstone, which has a generator and it works, but the staff take the 2 hour LS period as a chance to run errands at the shopping mall across the road.

"We take care of ourselves and our families (who all work at these facilities) first." :)

Lemme guess... by 'facilities' they mean cadre 'home offices'
