Basically already retired, although I still do rock up at work every day.
I have all the people managing the company that I need, I don't have to do much but just basically oversee.
I have managers and financial managers in place to run the company for me, I just have to look over their shoulders.
I have a dual income (or triple income), half from my living annuity, half from the company, and a portion from the rental because I own the building in which the company operates.
So I can spend most of the day on the computer doing whatever I want.
That is mostly company compliance stuff, banking, shipping and logistics, general admin, etc. Not a lot.
It's not a rough life.
After COVID we were able to structure our work week so that we can leave every day at 3:30 pm if are finished our orders for the day.
I find that keeps the staff well motivated to keep their work done quickly and efficiently. No time wasting.
Their employment contracts still specify 8am to 5pm if we ever need to go back to that, but are happy to do this as long as it is working well.

12 years back, when I received a substantial offer for my business

Retirement feels good no lie. Just waking up whenever and doing what you want while you still in your 40's and healthy.

Income is the only issue so far, I had to cut down on luxuries.

I woke up at 10:30 today.
