Honestly, Choosing to wait is fine. For whatever reason, even... gulp.... a religious one. But to make a sweeping statement like "sex outside of marriage always leaves scars", is demonstrably false and definitely coming from a very narrow minded point of view. The degree to which you are in error here is only matched by the degree to which YECs are in error as to the age of the universe.

To answer the OP. I believe I was ready at about 16. To the point where I treated sex responsibly and all that jazz.

I would have been ready at Standard 6. I still wish I could have started then. I started much later.

To be honest it all boils down to the manner in which sexual activity happens. And in an incrementing level it starts off bad but rapidly improves ... that is on an moral level which in my conception differs from an emotional level.

From a moral level ... fore-parents of mine got married at 15 or 16 or yonder. My own mother was engaged before she wrote her matric exam. My father was 26 at the time ... and a university lecturer. They got married when she was 19 and my father was 27. I was the first born and she gave birth to me when she was 24.

They are still happily married and going on like a house on fire ... I gather.
