I am looking for a Cisco compatible WiFi card.

From what I have been able to ascertain the card used by Cisco is the Atheros AR5212 / AR5213 ( as used in the series 800 routers )

Does anyone know who supplies Atheros product in SA ???

or

what other cards are compatible with Cisco -- please note needs both the Main AND Aux antenna connectors.

Thanks

Cisco miniPCI

Atheros chipsets are supplied in many wireless cards
http://atheros.rapla.net/

Thanks

Had a look at that

Strangely there is no entry under the miniPCI for Cisco -- and yet all the cards in many of their devices are miniPCI.

It looks like the same card is used in the Aironet AP's as in the Wireless routers.

Finding this info and the model numbers from Cisco is a non trivial task -- especially if you do not have an "authorised" login.

See if you can find the model and part number for the miniPCI wireless device in the 877W ????

The more confusion generated -- the more can be charged for "special" devices and parts.

Which are differentiated by a few lines of code in the firmware.

What a lovely way to make a bundle of *rip-off* money.

Close - but not a Cigar

Scoop Distribution
Look at the various miniPCI cards they normally have main & aux ie CM9, R52

Thanks

I saw those

I see Cisco have their own part number -- I am guessing some sort of firmware or something so other cards with the same chip sets will NOT work

Oh well back to travelling through purgatory. ( In search of answers )
