I want Netflix on my ATV and my local MP3 collection.

Do I need iTunes, iStore or sign ins considering it is my local collection and a 3rd party (Netflix)? US or will local work?

To get Netflix you will need either a US or a UK Apple ID and Unotelly. Easiest way would be to load credit on your iTunes account using gift cards and subscribe to Netflix via your Apple TV. Netflix will then just grab the subscription amount from your iTunes account. This method negates the need for messing around with Entropay etc.

To get MP3's an your Apple TV, just transfer the music to iTunes and login to both the ATV and the computer running iTunes using the same Apple ID. Then make sure Home Sharing is enabled. The ATV will then pickup the shared iTunes library and your music will stream to your ATV.

Thanks.

I think I had a US iTunes at one stage and managed to get Netflix on my ATV - that was the only use.

But wanted to try SA etc - but just tried and it removes Netflix. I'll have to convert.

Something to also consider getting is a UK Apple ID. You can then watch all the BBC channels for free via an iOS device on the ATV using airplay

and get access to NowTV (SkyTV) and all their sports and entertainment channels.

To change ID's on the ATV is just a simple click on the ID and it swaps out. The ATV retains the username and passwords of multiple ID's so it's quite easy to swap around.

If you are going to get a foreign Apple ID, rather get a US one. UK Netflix sucks big time. Now TV is ok, but its not cheap.

That's actually my point. That's why have both a US and a UK ID. The BBC broadcast 10 F1 races and the rest are available on NowTV. All my other content is available on Hulu Plus.

Just for interest sake, why would you have a Local ID?
I really cant see the pros on having one.

I have always had a US one from my first Iphone 4 came out.

I have a SA ID but I don't use it. However, the advantage is that you can link your SA credit card to it and not have to worry about buying gift cards etc. My issue with the SA ID is that there's no Netflix or Hulu Plus. Deal breaker.

Actually I see now tv is £6.99 a month. I may just give it a go.
