Audi S1 – The forgotten hot hatch

South African car buyers are a strange bunch.Its not that bad looking.In the end its an Audi , pretty plain and boring but certainly not ugly.It should have sold in bigger numbers.

What was the new price, and what could you buy for the same money? That would give you the reason for the poor sales...

Friend sold their RS4 for an S1. Fantastic car.

Given that the A1 platform (one shared with the VW Polo) is front-wheel drive, the S1’s underpinnings – particularly rear of the front seats – have been extensively revised to accommodate the Quattro linkages. For one thing it’s meant there’s no space to fit a dual clutch DSG transmission and the S1 is only available with a 6-speed manual gearbox

Doubt people buy an S1 to sit in traffic.
