There should be a rule where if it's not referred after the intitial dismissal, the batsman wrongfully given out should come back out on to the crease from the changeroom and continue playing after replays/3rd umpire finally confirms the truth. This would set an example and would be nothing short of embarrasing for the offending side/player.
There was an incident in the SA-AUS test series (I think it was the last test) where MacDonald clearly got away with murder. He took a c/b "catch" off the pitch where the ball CLEARLY deflected off the ground and into his hand. I could not believe it.
The underlying issue here is that these incidents are ones where the offending player KNOWS he's done wrong and he tries to ride the system. Of course there can be innocent mistakes but this one and the MacDonald "catch" are examples of more sinister activity. They should be nailed for it.
Anyway, this will just make us beating them here even sweeter!
