Hello fellow people,

I've been looking to buy a car now for a while. I have a max budget of R100,000. Looking for cars with 10,000-30,000KM mileage. I've looked at many cars but most in that price range are Polo 1.4's (bottom of the range) or Fiesta's(which come with CD,elec windows etc.)

Back on topic, The car i found is : 2007 Ford Fiesta 1.6i Ambiente A/T 5Dr Auto White 30000Km R86,500 Very good deal...

Problem is i'm very skeptical about automatics on these "cheaper" cars. Does anyone have any experience with them or knowledge as this is a really good deal. I dont want the stupid thing breaking down on me in 2 months or whatever the case is.

I want automatic for traffic reasons :p

Any suggestions and help would be highly appreciated. Peace

Have you searched autotrader.co.za? I found my car through them.

ford fiesta is a great car, you wont go wrong...

...some dealerships are not the best, but one in alberton has received good reviews and the one in centurion and edenvale. in my experience just stay miles away from the one in kempton park

You cant take credit for that one. Some one else said it in another thread

Did I say anywhere in that post that I made it up?

No I didn't. I heard it a long time ago so the other person can't take credit either.

Just saying. Relax.
If you want avoid being seen as someone who plagiarises stuff then give credit.

Eg "First On Rubbish Dump" - Someone who's name I cant remember but it wasnt me.

I shouldn't need to. I presumed that a lot of people knew this saying as it has been around for quite some time and then they could figure out for themselves that I did not make it up. I shouldn't have to justify myself at every turn.

What ever floats your boat - Not by me. Or What ever tickles your fancy - Also not by me. Alternatively, What ever rocks your cradle - Not by me either.

Geez people, shut the hell up. If you can't answer the original poster's question then get lost. Do any of you even own a ford or have you driven one in the last 10 years?

My friend has an auto Sirion and so far no problems after 4 years. Due to the low power output of small engines, I don't think an auto box will give any hassles.

Yeah i have to agree, why is everyone bashing ford... my sisters fiesta has been going strong for long now and she's had no problems with it what so ever.
When i see one go up in flames after buying it, then ill be able to bash them but for the past 2 years i have yet to see a problem.

Thanks gaz, gonna look around a bit more, not interested in that car anymore, no air con, no elec windows, no alarm or remote central locking. Quite disapointing but anyway gonna carry on looking :)

why automatic, you can get 07 1.4 trend for 100k (maybe 1.6 if you look around) or less, and its got all of your wants, incl abs and ebd
