Bondizzo: I could get them fitted but then it wouldnt be a good deal in the end, will end up costing R10k+- fitting everything which makes it just another average deal.

yeah wiz, i dunno it was just the first automatic i found and was wondering how they were because traffic really sucks and automatic in traffic rocks :D
but yeah, theres alota them out there as you stated above.

OK, back to the topic!!

There is nothing wrong with a small automatic at all!

We always had at least one in the family for my mom, who hates gears, and we have never had problems with any of them!

At least you know that the motor has probably never had all hell revved out of it, and nobody has ever slipped the clutch!!

Win win situation!!! :D

I have an automatic (sort of, it's continuously variable transmission with 7 virtual gears). You are way less likely to pick up transmission problems with an automatic, than with a manual car. Automatics don't have a clutch.

My two previous cars were also small cars with auto transmission. I never had any problems.

Be wary of the following brands:
Toyota, Mazda, Isuzu, Daihatsu, Volkswagen, Opel, BMW, Mercedes, Ford, Landrover, Tata, GWM,.... they're all gonna sell you a coffin on 4 wheels, and bleed you for as much money as possible.

Yeah, I forgot to mention Fiat, Citroen, Alphas and Renaults. Be VERY wary of them.

Its worth thr extra bucks buying an auto if you spend a lot of time in traffic. I have a DSG auto and will probably never go back to manual. My fiance has a 19 year old automatic Ford laser with 50,000km on the clock. It goes very well considering its age and low kw/nm.

They're just sluggish - but if you're cool, I think they're cool

I drive an Audi with a tiptronic gearbox. Had it for 4 years now, never had a problem with it!

Sorry, but I would have to commit suicide just before getting into a Tiida.

God knows what the designers were smoking when they designed that poor car!

The Almera is a nice car. I see nothing wrong with owning one of those, as I said, I just couldn't live with a Tiida!! :D
