The key deliverables in this role will be to:
- Running the automated testing programs against the full Travelstart platform;
- Working with the dev ops teams to facilitate faster deployment with a lower bug rate;
- Be responsible for all aspects of automation testing and quality assurance on assigned projects;
- Be responsible for working with developers and end users to gather testing requirements and then develop and execute automated test strategies;
- Working with internal and external customers to create, develop, and execute automated test plans based on the business directive and providing detailed defect analysis reports to these teams; and
- You will have to play foosball occasionally.
Expectations:
At 3 months to achieve:
- Get an understanding of the industry, platform and environments to be able to comfortably understand what is required in terms of automated testing scenarios;
- Create and run automated tests to “create a booking” (all types) on all front ends including website, API and mobile and B2B (Next);
- Create and run automated tests against TCC for basic functions including cancel, ticket, void, refresh bookings;
- Participate with manual QA to understand how users interact with the system to be able to assist in UAT and regression testing; and
- Help grow the list of test cases and scenarios as pre-emptive work for further automation.
At 6 months:
- Create ad run more advanced automated tests against TCC including but not limited to functions around invoice lines and invoicing (including activity lines);
- Basic structures in place to start rule table testing;
- DB testing automated rules- tests to ensure data written in terms of completeness and accuracy to correct tables at correct times;
- Start investigating mocking frameworks – create scenarios required mocked results for suppliers and gateways and find best tool to run these; and
- Error mapping scenario plans (to later automated with mocked results).
After 6 months:
- Mocking frameworks allowing focused approach on performance testing of system; and
- Get involved with developers on unit test level.
Listed below are the minimum requirements with regards to skills, competencies and abilities needed for this role:
- Experience in automating UI tests through selenium WebDriver with python, java;
- Experience in testing web based application in agile development process;
- Ability to use white box API test tools (e.g. SOAP UI, etc.) to duplicate defects and problems reported by application developers;
- Experience with performance, regression and load testing;
- Knowledge of QA process, testing life cycle; and
- Excellent communication is critical as this role will interact on a daily basis with vendor and business partners.
Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience in software automated quality assurance testing;
- Experience with complex integrated applications, proven results in coordinating end to end tests; and
- Previous experience in the Travel industry would be helpful.
