Wow,

I have been an autopage customer for 4 years and have just renewed for another 2.

Since getting a 3G phone, I have been trying to get info on pricing for a 3G 1GB package.

Heres the variety of answers from Autopage.

Customer Service Rep1. (She seems right, but not according to their Value Added Form)

"Sir it will be R399.00 for a 3G 1GB bolt on package"

Next Person.

"No its R599.00 as per our form, and we pass on the costs direct to you as we get them from Vodacom."

Vodocom 3G web site.

1GB MyMeg /3G data bundle listed as R399.00 per month.

Next Person. (via email)

"No the R599 rate is for HSPDA which is a higher speed so you pay more for the data."

Boy is this company confused.... Any comment from Vodacom / Autopage?

3G Data Prices the same via HSDPA

As quoted by the vodacom 3G member...

How much does it cost?
Utilising HSDPA will cost exactly the same as 3G during the launch phase.

One of those situations where everyone is right....:)

There are two speeds (3G (@ 384Kb/s max )and HSDPA (@ 1.8Mb/s max)) and two ways to buy it (with or without a card).

This gives 4 possible price points:

1) 1Gb on HSDPA speed with card - R599 (typically a contract.)

2) 1Gb on HSDPA speed without card - R499 (typically a bundle or your second 1G on contract.)

3) 1Gb on 3G speed with card - R479 (typically a contract.)

4) 1Gb on 3G speed without card - R399 (typically a bundle or your second 1G on contract.)
