Just downloaded the Ewido free version mentioned above, but it seems it is only a free 30-day trial.

Sweet! Ewido is free now. Last time I checked you still had to pay for it. Is it a full version or a watered down one?

I've used Ewido quiet are few times in the last year. Usually when I get to a somebodies house and find out its not just infected with Spyware, the Spyware is practially the O/S

It takes a long time, but its scans it runs are very effective and 9 times out of 10 it was all that was needed to clean the PC. Some of the pop-ups are very annoying though, and the fact that it was a 30 day trail, meant iv'e only ever used it to clean a PC once, never on a constant bases.

If its the full version (cant check at work) I'd installed it since its saved my rear end a few times already

It's freely downloadable from the internet for the whole world to use, no one sells it anywhere :)

From the site:

What you get with ewido anti-spyware Free
Easy to use
Daily database updates
Heuristics to detect unknown threats
Automatic Cleaning Engine
And most of all ... great customer satisfaction!

What you do not get (Automatic online-update Available only with commercial versions ewido anti-spyware for US$ 29.95!)
Real-time monitoring of the entire system
Self-protection at kernel layer guaranteeing gapless monitoring
Consent for commercial use

Worth it?

I'd say it's worth it Toxin, if you haven't got ZoneAlarm Security suite, this package works brilliantly

Thing is I'm running Spybot: S&D now. Should I uninstall that first then install ewido?

Not necessary to uninstall Spybot, it immunizes the system aswell, both will work together.

I'm running Spybot and Ad-Aware. Very good. Had the trial of Ewido before but didn't like the constant pop-ups.
