I wasn't planning on posting my experience until after the issue was resolved, but I figured the sooner this gets out the better.
I purchased over R5000 worth of components from Loot for a new PC build. I figured that if I ordered all of the core components in one place, that if I had an issue it would be more likely to get resolved quickly... I was very very wrong.
I received I DoA MSI Motherboard from them in late October. I only discovered it 2 days later, and returned it to them straight after that. It took a little over 2 weeks to get a replacement after returning the faulty board to them myself.
Although the replacement appeared to be unopened, upon removing it from the bag, it was absolutely disgusting. There was a sticky residue all over the board, finger marks all over it, so needless to say I submitted a return on this one too, less than 48 hours of receiving it.
This time things didn't go so well. A week passed and I heard nothing, after a few phone calls I was eventually told on Tuesday that the staff member had my replacement board in her possession (she later backtracked on this statement). It turned out that after more than a week, they still had my faulty motherboard in their possession and had done nothing about it.
So now supposedly they've made a "replacement order", and allegedly some sort of "override" but they refuse to give me timeframe.
So this is where I'm at right now more than 2 months after the original components were ordered. I thought of requesting a refund, but judging by the way they've handled the process so far, I'm skeptical I'd ever see it.
I don't know how I managed to secure 2 bad boards in a row, but I guess I'm just unlucky.
I'll be sure to post updates as they unfold, but this is where the situation stands as of now.
