What it will take to bring down tech prices in South Africa

While exchange rate fluctuations influence the price of computer hardware and other electronics, several other factors also have a significant impact.

I'm getting strong BS vibes from these opinions. Are they saying the rand needs to strengthen by a factor of somewhere between 1.4 and 2.1 times against the dollar, to impact consumer goods prices? Absurd! That's not protecting against volatility. That'd be pure profiteering.

Jebus... By the time it's 2012 levels, they'll effectively be making dozens of times the current profit on every single device sold.
