Axxess about static IPs for contract only - not prepaid

This is a just a warning to all those considering signing up for an account with Axxess that contrary to their adverts, Axxess does NOT allow static ips on all their ADSL accounts. In fact they only allow static ips on their monthly accounts, and not on their prepaid accounts.

Don't be taken in by their adverts which are a blatant lie. They do not allow static ips on all their adsl accounts.

And for Axxess defence, I wouldn't offer static IPs (which are expensive, btw), on prepaid packages either.

That's fine, but then don't advertise that you can get a static ip on all adsl accounts.

Depending on how charitable one feels on a Monday morning one could argue that 1) a pre-paid voucher does not constitute having an AXXESS account, or 2) they might've suffered a small oversight with their banner ad.

What if I am connected using the same account at 2 different sites? I get the static IP address at the 1 site I add L2TP connection settings to?

Yes, that is correct. The Static IP will be assigned to the first L2TP connection for that username.

Will the router keep the same IP even after a reboot or the line being down for a week or two?

Hi Grim,

The Router will keep the same IP, will not be lost however many Reboots you perform or if the line is down for an extended duration time. The only time you will loose your IP will be if your Axxess Account is in arrears.
