10 days ago I signed up for Axxess Capped Fibre with 10Mb line Speed and 200gb data on Openserve for R659.
My aim was to be under R1000 and currently using about 80GB on a 4mb line. So the upgrade will work for me. Plus Axxess has the free night time data.

OLD PRICES I noted down(for comparison).
120GB + 4MB Fibre 499
120GB + 8MB Fibre 559
120GB + 10MB Fibre 599
200GB + 4MB Fibre 559
200GB + 8MB Fibre 619
200GB + 10MB Fibre 659
200GB + 20MB Fibre 759
300GB + 10MB Fibre 749
300GB + 20MB Fibre 849
400GB + 10MB Fibre 839
400GB + 20MB Fibre 939

Now the prices has changed dramatically (which you can check on the website):
10Mb Line +200GB = R865
That difference is more than R200. How do they justify this?

Axxess went from being the cheapest to be even more expensive than Afrihost.
They better not be doing what AH did with their shaped accounts.
Didn't openserve recently do a price cut as well?

Holy crap....the prices skyrocketed. I signed up just before the price increases, so think they will honour the old prices. 20MB Fibre with 300GB cap which was R849 is now R1155. That is ridiculous.

10Mbps line is about R500.
That puts 200GB for R169. Cost now is: 369 for 200GB.
R0.845/gig to R1.845, a 120% increase in data prices.

That's quite interesting, putting them at the same price as the CW 250GB with uncapped midnight to 6pm.

Fun fact, both CW and Axxess have different prices for their capped accounts data portion if you bundle it.

Axxess 200GB on DSL is R198.

You could get the line from someone else and just get the DSL Axxess capped account and use those details, it's the same product.

I have a 100mb/400gb combo with Axxess, but have been using close to the 400gb for the last 3 months, so last week I start looking at how much it would cost me to upgrade to a bigger data package. On Monday (26th) I log onto their portal and I get a price for the 100mb/600Gb package, and it's R1299.00, R260 more than I currently pay for the 100mb/400Gb package. Unfortunately there is no option to upgrade from the first of the month, so I wait until Friday the 30th before I upgrade my service. Imagine my surprise when I get an invoice for R1895 on Saturday, a whopping R595 more than I was expecting to pay!

I give their support number a call and the techie tells me that I've been billed as if I were a new customer, but that I would have to phone the accounts dept to sort it out. So this morning I phone the accounts people. The first person I speak to tells me that it was an error and that they would rectify it on their side. I ask them to send me the correct invoice as well as a credit note for the incorrect one, which I had already paid. A few minutes later I get two invoices, one for the old amount (100mb/400gb), and one for the new account (100mb/600gb) for R1895. No credit note. So I phone accounts again, explaining that I need a credit note as well as the new, corrected invoice. Now the story changes, I'm told that as I made a change to my service I would be liable for the new price.

Naturally I'm not happy with this, and we end our conversation with Axxess accounts telling me that they would see what they could do, before coming back to me.

Seeing as there is a good chance that I'll not be doing business with Axxess in the foreseeable future, can anybody recommend a good ISP besides Axxess or AfriHost (sister company). My fibre line is hosted by OpenServe, so the ISP would have to be compatible with them.

Also signed up before the prices went up, but they have increased it regardless of that. With no notice being sent to us. They claim they had to increase prices to improve network quality..... please see my thread and you'll see they are just a greedy bunch really.
