Hi all.

Former Axxess customer here, despite moving from Axxess, they allowed to keep my email address, and I have too much linked to this address move over to Gmail, or even make use of my Mweb email address.

But I've noticed within the past few months that spam has reached out of control levels. A few days ago I got 10 emails within a minute all claiming to be from some mail company, claiming I have an undelivered parcel. If it's not that it's the usual Nigerian Price story. A few minutes ago, I got an email from a spoofed, or hacked email address claiming to be from Discovery, and that I have funds waiting. I also get emails all the time claiming to be from Netflix, or Spotify, claiming my account has to be renewed. I have also gotten emails claiming that they hacked my camera, claiming they saw me doing things I will refrain from saying here, due to the risk of triggering obscenity filters, and if I don't pay up, they will release them. I know they are fake, but it's just irriating. My email is linked to work stuff, and when I get a notification of a new email, I immediately think it could be work related, only to see it's from some lowlife, without a life.

Seriously - if Axxess simply had better Anti spam software on their server to block all of these emails getting through, I (and I'm certain many others) would not have this problem.

They are going to put as little resources as possible into their mail service because it's free.. any resources they put into it costs them money and they get nothing in return for it..

You get what you pay for in this case, as is the case for every other ISP that provides a free mail service..

Start moving over to Gmail..

You have no spam filters on your devices?

If you slowly work your way through your account you will find it's not a lot of work to migrate to a new provider.

1st rule - never use your ISP for email otherwise you will be tied in for life.

I have my own domain and also find 90% of mail is spam,

Example: 24 spam mails today already and its only just 8:00am

My BIL had the same issue. It took him 3 months to migrate. It is not a huge effort.

Having your own domain does not prevent or decrease the amount of spam you receive..

Using an effective spam filtering service does or an email service provider with an effective spam filtering service..

Back in the day, Avast free anti-virus had a filter that worked in Outlook.

My domain is with Afrihost shared hosting and it filters well. Also, I don't use my email for public things, I use Proton's alias feature to create throw away addresses that I nuke as soon as I am done doing what I needed it for.

I have not had an account with Axxess in yonks, so the spam from them is really much. Last year some time they sent me 5 mtn sim cards in the post. Like how the hell do they get that right?

Forward them to gmail / icloud and then every new mail you receive you go change it on the service / website.
