Axxess now offering 5G plan cheaper than Rain

Axxess has launched a Standard 5G package, promising download speeds up to 500Mbps for R449 a month and adding to its range of uncapped 5G products.

Its uncapped 5G products leverage MTN's network, which Axxess claims can reach such fast speeds depending on router capability and coverage.

2Mbps is just just too slow. If they throttled you to 10/15Mbps, it could worth while.
This. Why so darn slow? Even 5 Mbit/sec would be something.
They want you to upgrade to a higher package for the rest of the month.

Axxess’s higher-tier 5G plans — features a generous fair usage policy (FUP) that reduces speeds to 2Mbps once the user reaches the 300GB threshold.

Generous?

Been like this for weeks / 2 months, possibly (?), ever since 5G announced through Axxess and Afrihost :

Axxess - "NO MTN Fixed 5G available in your area."

Afrihost - "No Pure 5G coverage
But don’t worry, you have LTE coverage in your area!"

Meanwhile, when I check MTN's coverage map, results to my address are :

Get connected on SA’s best network

5G Available
Get your 5G deal now.

Fixed LTE Available
Get Fixed LTE now.

Fibre Available
Get Supersonic fibre now.

4G Available

3G Available
2G Available

So, what's with Axxess and Afrihost ? ; they've claimed they get their results from the service providers, but I don't think it's true, because for about a month, until approximately 2 to 3 weeks ago, both of them showed MTN LTE was unavailable to me, yet I've used it before through Afrihost, and ordered it before via Axxess.

Was like a switch was flicked, and suddenly LTE wasn't available to me, then available again after weeks of not being so.

I don't want to order 5G right now, but simply highlighting that something must be wrong with the 2 related ISP's systems.

Maybe fixed 5G vs normal ?

300GB FUP, even for R449 is just unrealistic when the speed is 500Mbps+.. could at least offer lower speed for larger FUP..

could be a glitch with google maps address lookup. Had this error before for fibre, some sites claim i dont have fibre available and yet im on it right now lmao

Some of the sites do show it as available if I refresh the page and enter the address again, it's weird..

The ISP's estimate of the 5G coverage is much smaller than the actual. Perhaps they are doing this to limit support down the road where someone that doesn't have ideal signal stats has slower speeds.

Thanks - fortunately I'm in no rush for 5G, especially at some of the prices.

Only use a max of 100 GB / month on LTE so would be more inclined increasing that quota for a long time to come, before 5G (speeds) became a necessity.

I'm slow on the uptake to newer technologies.
